Article  Bunking up the carbon cycle

This is a paper by Hermann Harde "Scrutinizing the carbon cycle and CO2 residence time in the atmosphere" claiming the average residence time of anthropic CO2 is 4 years. Very attractive to the "CO2 is plant food" brigade. A fine example of anything you want to be true can probably be found on the Internet. I suggest (if so minded) .. read and enjoy. The 'trick' is that the post-industrial temperature rise of 0.8C would naturally cause an increase of CO2 from 280ppm to almost what we observe - only an extra 15% coming from human activities. So we are merely observing a natural process for which we should feel no guilt. Big Grin

Quote:The anthropogenic contribution to the actual CO2 concentration is found to be 4.3%, its fraction to the CO2 increase over the Industrial Era is 15% and the average residence time 4 years.
